“On Saturday, October 24, 2026, a rather unusual incident took place at the five-star superior hotel La Butte aux Bois, located at Paalsteenlaan 90, 3620 Lanaken, Limburg, Belgium,” explains Thibau Reynders of G R A N A D A – J O C H E N L E Ë N.
“At approximately 1:50 PM, a horse unexpectedly entered the hotel through the main reception area, walked down the hallway, and made its way directly into the hotel’s restaurant, Bistrot Le Ciel. Surprised guests quickly moved aside to make room for the unexpected visitor.
One of the restaurant guests, who was accompanied by a dog, remained calm and managed to lure the horse back outside using a dog treat. By that time, the horse’s owner had arrived and safely escorted the animal back to its stable at the nearby Zangersheide stud farm. It remains unclear how the horse managed to escape from its stable.The remarkable incident was captured on video by bystanders as well as the hotel’s security cameras. Several major Belgian and Dutch news outlets have already picked up the story and shared the footage. We would also like to bring this extraordinary and rather amusing story to your attention.
